in 2011 - come up fighting

in the village where i live

Every morning the train passes by my house at 9:15 on it’s way up island and then again at 4:15 on it’s way back down. It’s my little thermometer. I like to be up and out of bed when it goes by. Morning or night. Especially today.

After i got the kids bundled up and off to school i slipped back under the warm covers and to be honest, i could have stayed there all day. Wallowing in some melancholy dreams. Blinds drawn, pretending to be sleeping. But, i heard the train.

I heard the train.

I showered and dressed. Turned some music up loud. Got lost in a YouTube wormhole. Laced up my shoes.

It’s January – everything is dark and gloomy. I am so proud of you for hearing the train and lacing up your shoes. Run Jessie, you are doing so much better. My good thoughts are with you, wish I could come and hug you.

I have trains that pass many times throughout the day and night, my house trembles everytime and keeps me awake sleepless in Kamloops. It cant be the same train, could it be? Also, I have set some running goals this year, one of them is to run the Vegas marathon….thats right I have set a goal with my girlfriend to be there Dec 4th, 2011 and have started to pound the pavement in a way that I have never done before. Im hoping to see you in Vegas baby! Keep running my friend and know that this blue phase will pass….xofiona
