Tristan, my eight year old daughter, wrote this poem for me in boynton style.
Mom
Our mom has a little flabby tummy
that we all like to jiggle
with a very deep belly button
in the middle where she giggles.
She's got two very strong arms
from carrying babies around
and two very old hands
that her mother gave her.
She's got two very fast legs
from chasing chickens about
and very long feet
with black boots no doubt.
You see her teeth when she's mad
and her eyebrows are waxed
she smiles a lot
and gives us all she's got.
Should i laugh or cry?

AWWWWW….. this is just amazing!!!!
Both.
Your girl is wise beyong her years. I didn’t learn to truely appreciate my mother until I was one myself. Sounds like she has a good handle on life. Kudos :)
Do both! That is the most precious thing I have ever read.
oh! must have my eyebrows waxed!
yup, both.
but laugh first, harder, and last…
I think I would do both. Your girl is brilliant. There is no way my boy (same age as your girl) could be that clever and insightful. Lucky lady. Everyone needs to be reminded how human they are, especially by their children, right??
Just be glad she didn’t say you had “chicken legs”
What a sweet poem.
wow. beautiful. you must be doing something right, my dear!
Laugh. Because when she gets older and you read that, you’ll cry then.
That is totally wicked awesome. I would cry from happiness and love and all the warm squishyness! I can’t wait till Theya can write me poetry!!
That’s beautiful. Definitely laugh and cry. It’s beautiful.
this is fantastic. you should stich it on a pillow!
oh wow, that’s fantastic. deserving of laughter and crying, i think. :)
