this is where the crazy lady speaks

in i crack me up

As it's a new year it's time to make a fresh start on my self-mockery. As i have discussed many times i have a little problem with my little parker. He's a booby man. I know, you're starting to feel a little uncomfortable. He can order it in restaurants for gods sake. But, it's so much easier said than done.
Just last week i told you, ingrid internet, that i was weaning him. So didn't happen.
I think the biggest problem is that i have been trying to reason with him. Just today, i was tired, so tired, and my back was aching. That's the other part of the problem – parker sleeps in between shane and i. I don't really sleep, just rest uncomfortably in the crack waiting for him to wake up again.
Here's how it looks:
a great artist
A pretty good representation right down to the nursing bra and silk lady boxers.
But then, he's my baby and i worry about him because, in my defense, he got sick last week. Now he is on two steroids and antibiotics. I am hopping back on that weaning horse when he is all better.
See:
fishy mask
Promise *crossing fingers* Promise!

Maybe you need some sort of incentive to keep your promises. Like, if Parker isn’t weaned by your deadline, we all get free ice-cream or something.

Eh, he’ll be weaned eventually. If it makes you feel better, Lexy was four years and three months. Course, the other kids were not nursed that long. Maybe night weaning only would work for now and let you get some sleep. Poor baby with the little mask. Hope he’s better soon.

That mask and several stays in the hospital kept Youngest on a bottle for far too long…
all things in time.

Aaah, the joys of weaning. My boobs ache for yours.
Poor little guy…hope he’s feeling soon, although those are awfully stylin’ jammies. My daughter was very excited to see them. ‘HE HAS SPIDERMAN, MUMMY! LOOK!’

I’m digging the mask! Did it come with the eyes and nose on it, or did you get very creative and draw them on? Both my son and my daughter get neb treatments every day, and we have done our fair share of hospital visits and stays with both of them. Two steroids?!! That’s a lot. I don’t remember ever having to continue the inhaled steroid when they were prescribed the oral one. Good luck!

I so love the mask!
Sean and Will used one of those too, though it is a lot uglier here, because of their asthma. hope things get better soon.
ps: love the drawing. add another kid in the middle and you’ll have a pretty clear idea of how momsterland looks like in the morning. well, without the nursing bra and silk lady boxers…

I love the drawing of the bed situation! That is EXACTLY what our bed situation is. Our twin is the mattress right on the floor, and the queen is the box and mattress on the floor, higher than the twin. My boy starts on the twin, and frequently ends up in the middle of the queen. I’ve been wondering how to introduce the concept of the big boy bed in the big boy bedroom. I’ll have to stay tuned to your blog for pointers!

Awwww… poor poor baby. Breaks your heart to see them so sick… I hope he feels better real soon. Don’t beat yourself up over the weaning. When the time is right it will happen…

Despite the shittyness of needing the asthma mask, it’s amazing how beautiful he is.

If you are nursing in silk shorts and a jazzy nursing bra you look so much better than I ever did. He will wean…and probably sooner than the others did. Your boobs are just really tired. Can you blame them?

Thanks everybody! My boobs are tired! I know he will wean eventually, he is actually doing better already. He is weaned during the day – just the nights.
As far as the fishy mask goes it came with the kid friendly nebulizer we bought for eliza several years ago. We also get a new one every time we go to emergency.
Both parker and eliza have been hospitalized several times for asthma and pneumonia. Eliza is having her best winter ever though! So i am hopeful she is growing out of it!
